Shannon McEwan was first exposed to genre romance via the serialised M&B novels in her Nanna’s English Woman’s Weekly magazines. Her Nanna had no time for That Kind of Rubbish (she only subscribed for the knitting patterns) but Shannon was hooked.
Years later, inspired by a housemate who read Georgette Heyer in the bathtub, Shannon started writing historical romance. Some of her stories have been sweet, some of them sultry. She’s pretty sure her Nanna wouldn’t approve of any of them.
Shannon’s story What Mari Found was a finalist in the 2017 Romance Writers Australia Little Gems Contest, and has recently been published in the Onyx: RWA Short Story Anthology.
Shannon lives, parents and writes in Melbourne’s Northern suburbs.
